Steampunk fashion is a subgenre of the steampunk movement in science fiction. It is a mixture of the Victorian era's romantic view of science in literature and elements from the Industrial Revolution in Europe during the 1800s. The fashion is designed with a post-apocalyptic era in mind. Steampunk fashion consists of clothing, hairstyling, jewelry, body modification and make-up.



Those are official Wikipedia definitions of Steampunk and Steampunk Fashion.  But to me, Steampunk has become a personal vision, or as I have also termed it......a re-imagined vision.  And Steampunkery is a term that I use to refer to my love of re-purposing items with Steampunk flair.

It all began after sitting through a marathon of, Steampunk'd, on Netflix.  I came across it quite by chance, tuned in, and was immediately hooked.  

Being crafty, I had been working on re-purposing used clothing.  I had out my handy sewing machine, and was keeping myself occupied.  When I began the Steampunk'd series, it expanded upon what I was doing, but through a culture that had captivated me and kept me glued to my laptop for almost 2 solid days.

I had a brainstorm......wow!....all that costume jewellery that I had, all the materials.....OMG!  My beautiful vintage sewing form would make a beautiful lamp!!!!   And so it began...........

Steampunk was taking my love for everything old, vintage, antique, and giving it new vision, new life.  I researched and searched the various styles and influences of an alternate history that is often explored, and realized, the Victorian era jarred my fascination.  

And so began.............SteampunkeryCo

My sewing room has been reorganized to include my jewellery crafting table, and I began my, re-imagining, and developed my first business....an Etsy Shop.
